1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They are commonly used to remember preferences and to count visitors.

2. Our approach

We ask first. When you arrive, a notice appears offering Accept or Decline, and no analytics cookie is placed on your device unless you choose Accept. Declining is exactly as easy as accepting, and it does not limit anything you can do on this site.

We use cookies only to understand how people find and use the site. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your information with advertisers.

Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under the name gg_cookie_consent_v1, so you are not asked repeatedly. That entry stays on your device and is never sent to us.

3. Which cookies we use

If — and only if — you accept, Google Analytics sets the following:

NameSet byPurposeExpires
_gaGoogle Analytics Distinguishes one visitor from another so visits can be counted without identifying you 2 years
_ga_49TVG0G82SGoogle Analytics Keeps track of a single visit (a “session”) on this particular site 2 years

We ask Google to anonymize IP addresses, and we have turned off advertising and personalization features. Google processes this data as described in its privacy policy.

Some pages embed content from other services — for example our donation platform, our Etsy storefront, or an embedded video. Those providers may set their own cookies when you interact with that content, under their own policies.

4. What happens if you decline

No analytics cookies are placed on your device, and nothing about your visit is stored there.

To be straightforward with you: Google still receives a basic, cookie-less signal that a page was viewed, so we can see rough visitor numbers. It contains no identifier and nothing is written to your device, which is what the “consent mode” standard is designed to do. If you would rather not send even that, use the Do Not Track setting described below, or a content blocker.

5. Changing your choice

You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. The notice will then appear again on your next visit and you can choose differently.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies → See all site data and permissions → find grace-grit.org → Delete.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → find grace-grit.org → Remove.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → find grace-grit.org → Remove.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies → See all cookies and site data → find grace-grit.org → Delete.

6. Do Not Track

Most browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Many websites ignore it. We do not. If your browser sends that signal, we load no analytics at all and you will not even see the consent notice.

7. Managing cookies in your browser

You can set your browser to block or delete cookies generally. Blocking all cookies can break parts of many websites, though this site will continue to work normally.
